To become a Bushwick Food Coop member, please:
1. Fill out the MEMBERSHIP AND WORK SIGNUP FORM HERE
2. Schedule your membership payment. This is $50 and can be paid in installments of $10 every 4 weeks, and can be “ordered” with your food order and paid at Buying Club distribution days, or at General Meetings and Tabling sites, with either cash or check. The low income member fee is $15 and can be paid in installments of $5/4wks. Contact membership@bushwickfoodcoop.org if you think you qualify.
3. Sign up for a regular shift, or for a committee or an outreach event. The minimum work requirement to remain an active member with ordering and voting privileges is 4 hours per 4 weeks.
ALL MEMBERS ARE OWNERS — THIS IS YOUR COOP!
You need to be a member of the Bushwick Food Coop to order food from the Buying Club.
If you don’t fulfill the work requirement of 4 hrs/4 wks, or you don’t fill out the required forms or pay your fees, you will first be placed on “alert” and given a grace period of 4 weeks to get in good standing, then be “suspended” and not allowed to order, until which time you fulfill the membership requirements. You may not purchase food at all without signing the Membership Agreement; it is illegal for us to sell to non-members. This includes overstock purchases.
